Privacy notice

What we collect on starlingpublishingllc.com, why, and what we never do. Last updated October 18, 2026.

The short version

You can browse our books without an account. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies, and we do not sell personal information.

Contact messages

When you use the contact form we store your name, email address, organization (if you give one) and message so we can reply. We keep messages only as long as we need them to deal with your request.

Scan & Play codes and Amazon links

When a QR code or a “Buy on Amazon” link is used, we add one to a daily counter for that code or book edition. We do not store IP addresses, device identifiers or any detail that could identify the person, including a child, who scanned or clicked.

Children

Our website is written for parents, teachers and other grown-ups, and children use our free pages and Scan & Play activities. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Email sign-ups are for adults only: the form first asks for a year of birth, and if the answer shows the person may be under 18 we show an “ask a grown-up” page and store nothing (the year itself is never stored). Pages reached from Scan & Play codes have no sign-up form. Pages colored online stay in that browser; nothing is uploaded.

Email sign-ups

When you sign up for the bonus coloring pack, we store your email address, where you signed up, the date and what you agreed to. We only send occasional emails about new free pages and books if you ticked the separate email box; getting the pack does not depend on it. Every email will include an unsubscribe link, and you can unsubscribe at any time using the link on the download page. We keep sign-up records until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them, and you can contact us to have your record removed.

Services we rely on

Our site is delivered through Cloudflare, which protects it from abuse and may produce privacy-friendly, cookie-free visit statistics. Our web server keeps short-lived technical logs for security. When you follow a link to Amazon, Amazon’s privacy notice applies on their site.
